DESCRIPTION

Potassium is a key mineral the body requires to function. It is essential for the heart, kidneys and other organs to work normally. Potassium deficiencies make people feel weak, cause leg cramps, and cause headaches, stomach pains and abnormal heartbeat. A serious lack of potassium could even lead to the development of diabetes.

Available: 100 Capsules

CLINICAL APPLICATIONS

  • Treatment of low potassium
  • Leg cramps
  • Irregular heart rhythm
  • Diabetes
  • Hypertension
  • Arthritis

OVERVIEW

Low potassium is associated with a risk of high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, arthritis, cancer, digestive disorders, and infertility. While most people who eat a healthy diet get enough potassium naturally, many do not. For such people, doctors typically recommend improved diet and/or habits, potassium supplements, or both. Potassium deficiencies are most common in people who:

  • Use certain medicines such as diuretics
  • Have physically demanding jobs
  • Exercise or work in hot climates and sweat excessively
  • Have health conditions such as Crohn’s disease that affect digestive absorption
  • Have chronically loose watery stools
  • Have an eating disorder
  • Abuse alcohol or drugs
  • Smoke
